For the place of the SMA Laity within the proposed Charismatic Family there can be an alteration in the way this is framed. Suggested relationship model:

 SMA Laity Steering Group

There is an urgent need for a Steering Group (name can be altered) for the SMA Laity. The SG should be made up of one representative per country for those countries that want to participate. The need for an (interim) SG is immediate since they will also prepare for the GA 2019.

Responsibilities of the SG include:

-          Define the identity of the SMA Laity and their role within the SMA

-          Coordinate communication and sharing of information between SMA Laity groups

-          Maintain regular contact and communication with the General Council

-          Be a channel of communication with the SMA and OLA sisters

-          Creation of structure to support and promote spirituality and formation among lay groups at local, unit and international levels

-          Communicate and engage with other lay groups of charismatic families

-          Explore possible future realities which will impact on the place and role of lay people in all units

-          Organise international meeting of SMA Laity- business or social purpose

-          Work with SMA International Laity coordinator

-          Structured and regular contact between Steering Group members through Skype or other means

-          Review and revise  “The SMA and Lay Associates” ( 2004) and any other relevant documentation to represent current reality

Coordinator

There is an urgent need for a part-time paid coordinator (one day per week). The profile of this coordinator would be:

-          Someone committed to this area of work and convinced of its value, possessing a background in SMA , theology of Mission and Laity

-          An ongoing role, not simply occasional, before and after meetings/ gatherings

-          Fluent in at least two languages

-          Flexibility to travel

Important responsibilities:

-          To represent the views and concerns of the Steering Group to the General Council, SMA leadership and any other group or organisation.

-          To be a part-time role in the beginning but develop potentially into a full-time role

-          To explore mechanisms to finance and support emerging lay structures

-          Work closely with SG and General Council and be familiar with SMA

Platform for Formation

There is a need for the coordination of the formation programmes of the different units, to ensure some commonality and to facilitate sharing of formation resources.

The different formation programmes should be familiar to key personnel in the various units, sharing key points.

A “support system” should be developed, ex. the “buddy system” in the Netherlands.

There needs to be initial and ongoing formation of seminarians and priests regarding the roles, diversity and legitimacy of the missionary calling for the laity.

The different ways of sending laity to the mission in Africa should be discussed and some effort made to standardise the process.

Conclusion:

-          Development and usage of existing media, like the Blogspot that Helene Liet manages. (What does Helene need from us? What commitment can we make to her?)

-           Look at how use can be made of SMAollywood and how we can also make use of that space.

-          Who can access the SMA Family Network? What is the process of obtaining access?

-          A “digital newspaper” can be created with a short summary of publications or events of lay missionaries, provided by each lay unit.

-          All units are committed to communicating collectively through SG and Coordinator to the General Council in Rome

-          Explore the creation of an SMA app for people to install on their phone for easy access

-          Exploit social media like YouTube or vlogs.

-          There is a future aspiration to have a designated communications officer/media officer with professional qualities

Pour la place du Laïcat SMA au sein de la famille Charismatique proposée il peut y avoir un changement de la façon dont cela est encadré. Le modèle de relation suggéré :

Groupe de pilotage du Laïcat SMA

Il y a un besoin urgent d'un groupe de pilotage (le nom peut être modifié) pour les Laïcs SMA. Le GP doit être composé d'un représentant par pays pour les pays qui veulent y participer. La nécessité d'un GP (intérimaire) est immédiate car ils se prépareront également pour l'AG 2019.

Les responsabilités du GP impliquent :

-          Définir l'identité du laïcat SMA et leur rôle au sein de la SMA

-          Coordonner la communication et le partage d'informations entre les groupes du Laïcat SMA

-          Maintenir un contact régulier et de la communication avec le Conseil général

-          Être un canal de communication entre la SMA et les sœurs NDA

-          Création d'une structure pour soutenir et promouvoir la spiritualité et la formation au sein des groupes des laïcs aux niveaux local, d’entité et internationale

-          Communiquer et collaborer avec les groupes des laïcs d’autres familles charismatiques

-          Explorer les réalités possibles dans le futur et qui auront un impact sur la place et le rôle des laïcs dans toutes les entités.

-          Organiser une rencontre internationale du Laïcat SMA - à des fins commerciales ou sociales

-          Travailler avec le coordonnateur international du Laïcat SMA

-          Avoir le contact structuré et régulier entre les membres du groupe de pilotage par Skype ou d'autres moyens

-          Examiner et réviser « Les Associés SMA et laïcs » (2004) et tout autre document pertinent pour qu’il corresponde à la réalité actuelle

Le Coordinateur

Il y a un besoin urgent d'un coordonnateur rémunéré à temps partiel (un jour par semaine). Le profil de ce coordonnateur serait la suivante :

-          Quelqu'un engagé dans ce domaine de travail et convaincu de sa valeur, possédant une formation dans la SMA, en théologie de la mission et des Laïcs

-          Un rôle permanent, non pas seulement occasionnel, avant et après les réunions / rencontres

-          Courant dans au moins deux langues

-          La flexibilité de voyager

Les responsabilités importantes :

-          Représenter les points de vue et les préoccupations du Groupe de pilotage au Conseil général, au leadership SMA et tout autre groupe ou organisation.

-          D’être un rôle à temps partiel au début, mais potentiellement développer dans un rôle à temps plein

-          Explorer des mécanismes pour financer et soutenir les structures laïques émergentes

-          Travailler en étroite collaboration avec GP, le Conseil Générale et se familiariser avec SMA

Plateforme pour la formation

Il y a un besoin pour la coordination des programmes de formation des différentes entités, afin d'assurer des points communs et faciliter le partage des ressources de la formation.

Les différents programmes de formation devraient être familiers au personnel clé des différentes entités, partageant des points clés.

Un « système de soutien » devrait être développé, ex. le « système de jumelage » aux Pays-Bas.

Il doit y avoir une formation initiale et continue des séminaristes et des prêtres concernent les rôles, la diversité et la légitimité de l’appel missionnaire pour les laïcs.

Les différentes manières d’envoyer des laïcs en mission en Afrique devraient être discutées et des efforts devraient être faits pour normaliser le processus.

-          Développement et utilisation des médias existants, comme le Blogspot qu'Hélène Liet gère. (De quoi Hélène a-t-elle besoin de nous ? Quel engagement pouvons-nous faire pour elle ?)

-           Regardez comment l'utilisation peut être faite de SMAollywood et comment nous pouvons également utiliser cet espace.

-          Qui peut accéder au réseau de la famille SMA ? Quel est le processus d'accès ?

-          Un « journal numérique » peut être créé avec un bref résumé des publications ou des événements de missionnaires laïcs, fournis par chaque unité laïque.

-          Toutes les unités se sont engagées à communiquer collectivement par le GP et le coordonnateur au Conseil Général à Rome

-          Explorer la création d'une application SMA que les personnes vont installer sur leurs téléphones pour un accès facile

-          Exploiter les médias sociaux tels que YouTube ou vlogs.

-          Il y a une aspiration future à un chargé des communications ou un responsable des médias avec des qualités professionnelles
