Currently we have Lay Missionaries in Tanzania, Ghana and Liberia.
Tanzania: Jun and Evelyn Apilado have returned to the U.S. We are very grateful to God for protecting Jun in July 2007 when he needed emergency open-heart surgery. He has made a wonderful recovery and Evelyn has been the angel at his side throughout Jun's medical crisis. In Tanzania, Jun did many construction projects and feels there is more he would like to complete. Evelyn started a Preschool Program at the Shaloom Project in Mwanza. Lawreen McBride has taken over the ministry with the Preschool. [Shaloom is the AIDS Ministry of the Diocese of Mwanza.] Jen Viola will complete her tour in Mwanza where she has served for three years. She worked with the Ilemela AIDS Outreach Project, working mainly with the AIDS Orphans. She returns to the U.S. in March.
In Ghana, Sean Hogan has been serving at the Hope for Life Project, working with people with disabilities. Steve Phillips returned to Ghana to work with a ministry for Children with Disabilities in Nkoranza. He is happy to be able to use his Occupational Therapist skills.
Ann Seliskar is serving at the Ganta Leprosy Center, helping out at the Pharmacy and enjoys visiting the patients and getting to know them, their families and their needs.
Jadwiga Figula arrived in Liberia in January and will be working with the Youth in the Archdiocese of Monrovia. She is a really good photographer and also will assist the Archdiocese by helping to set up their Website.
Our Team at Takoma Park is busy with recruitment, fundraising, newsletters, keeping up with community life, hospitality for our visitors and the daily needs of the Program.
We are united with all our S.M.A. Family in prayers, especially during this Holy Season.

Tanzanie: Jun Apilado et Evelyn ont regagné les Etats-Unis Nous sommes très reconnaissants à Dieu pour la protection de Juin en juillet 2007 quand il a eu besoin d'urgence d’une chirurgie à coeur ouvert. Il a réalisé un bon rétablissement et Evelyn a été l'ange à ses côtés tout au long du mois de Juin pendant ses ennuis médicaux. En Tanzanie, Jun fait beaucoup de projets de construction et estime qu'il ya plus il ne voudrait. Evelyn a commencé un programme préscolaire à la Shaloom projet à Mwanza. Lawreen McBride a pris en charge la direction de la Maternelle. [Shaloom est le projet sida du ministère du diocèse de Mwanza.] Jen Viola achèvera sa tournée à Mwanza, où elle a siégé pendant trois ans. Elle a travaillé avec le « Ilemela AIDS Outreach Project », travaillant principalement avec les Orphelins du SIDA. Elle retourne aux États-Unis en mars.
Au Ghana, Sean Hogan a servi à la « Hope for Life Project », en collaboration avec les personnes handicapées. Steve Phillips retourné au Ghana pour travailler avec un ministère pour les enfants handicapés, en Nkoranza. Il est heureux d'être en mesure d'utiliser ses compétences Ergothérapeute.
Ann Seliskar est en poste au Centre de Ganta lèpre, contribuant à la pharmacie et à la visite des malades, pour permettre de faire connaissance entre eux, de leurs familles et de leurs besoins.
Jadwiga Figula arrivé au Libéria en janvier, il sera avec les jeunes dans l'Archidiocèse de Monrovia. Elle est vraiment bon photographe et aidera aussi l'archidiocèse en les aidants à créer leur site Web.
Notre équipe à Takoma Park est occupée par le recrutement, la collecte de fonds, de bulletins, de maintien de la vie en communauté, l'hospitalité à nos visiteurs et les besoins quotidiens du programme.
Nous sommes unis avec tous nos Familles S.M.A. dans la prière, en particulier au cours de cette période sainte de carême..
